Bio: Rear Naked Choke was formed in 2009 in Abilene Texas. Through their own brand of Heavy Rock n Roll and high energy live performances they began gaining notice in the local music scene. That attention has gotten them the opportunities to play with National and Regional bands such as Nothing More, Bobaflex, Saliva, Tantric, Trapt, Flaw, The Devil You Know, Texas Hippy Coalition, As Above/So Below, Messer and more.
RNC recently released their full length Self-Titled album worldwide through Sliptrick Records. The album was recorded and produced by CJ Pierce of Drowning Pool. The first single “Suicide Betsy” is doing well with thousands of stream a week on Spotify, Pandora and more and it in the Top 20 on the top 50 Rock Chart on DRT Airplay Charts. It is picking up steam with terrestrial radio as well.
While RNC has their own style and sound and don't attempt to emulate or fit into a mold, fans of music in the vein of Metallica, Godsmack, Pantera, Five Finger Death Punch, Down etc... will enjoy the music of Rear Naked Choke.
Influences: Pantera, Godsmack, Clutch, Metallica, Trivium, Iron Maiden and many many more.
Touring: With the release of their debut album their current plans are to continue touring in support of the album in 2019 with a larger touring schedule and plan.
If you’re at all a fan of metal music you’ll definitely want to check out this album. R.N.C. is absolutely phenomenal at writing catchy metal guitar riffs, which in my mind is one their strong suits. The ability to create so many different atmospheres through their tracks is another equally important skill of theirs, and it’s all that variance that kept me interested throughout the entire album. I’m excited to see what else Rear Naked Choke creates in the future!"

Listed as one of the top 5 West Texas Underground Rock/Metal band you need to know!! - You cannot get more hardcore than having a band named after a mix martial arts submission move. And, as there are diverse fighting styles in the MMA, Rear Naked Choke defines their style as not only assorted, but they brand their flair as high-energy, and not attempting to emulate or fit in a mold. The band has been around since 2009 and in that time have garnered a solid following of fans due to their hard rocking and entertaining ways. Mick Taylor is one bad-ass vocalist and the band as a whole is an army of rock warriors that must be heard.

Rear Naked Choke is, easily, one of the best Texas bands I've seen/heard in years. They do it all, from edgy and aggressive attack to powerful and melodic. These guys are seasoned veterans that put on one hell of a rock show. You can hear so many influences in their music but know that their writing is all their own. The amazing 2 guitar attack blended with a groovy and solid rhythm section that will keep your head bouncing all topped off with the most energetic front-men you'll ever see. Bad ass band!
